Jeremiah 1:5

1 John 3:1
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

What makes you a child of God? I think what makes me a child of God is the knowledge that my strength or expertise cannot define or present the future which has already been fought and handed over to me. The ability to dream of a certain future is not by choice but by the supreme knowledge which has been deposited in my subconscious. Therefore, when situations are rejected, accepted or envisioned; which a few only can see, these are the qualities of a child of God. Hence, having the audacity to fervently believe that you can change a situation or oppose a change. Also, the ability to know that I cannot do most things; leaving it to my father and therefore believing that he will do it in his own time is a consciousness that makes cognisant of my heavenly father.

Romans 8:14 &16
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

1 John 3:10
By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

Having the conscience to do the right things most of the time indicates honouring the father. However, what we know as bad or good is very different from what the father sees. But the fact that when our hearts do something that which it thinks is good or bad, we react and this makes us act accordingly. The feeling of being upright is an attribute of God’s ever-presence in his children. Loyalty, is one of the greatest acquisition of a child of God. Love for oneself, others and humanity is another attribute of a child of God. Forging peace and unity through perseverance is another resemblance of those known to be the children of God.

However, do you know that some of the most wicked men that you have heard of are also children of God? We must understand that without pain no man can reach his full potentials and who are the people who execute these sort of suffering to an individual or to the world? Most of them are children of God too. If they were not seen as wrong or did not inflict the pain in which they were called to do, then do you think the brightest and smartest of minds could have eventually developed and utilised their God given talents. For we are God’s handiwork recreated anew that we may do this good works which he has planned beforehand for us. Therefore, we must understand that it is only God that knows what is good. Hence, you might see a man as wicked but to God he is a special child. As long as he has a relationship with his father, he knows the voice of his father when he speaks and in his heart, the love for God and mankind is present, we might as well leave the rest to God; for he alone knows his children.

Matthew 5:9
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

Ephesians 5:1
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.

Everything good is God, therefore everything good must be felt from you and not just seen of you. We all know that following the rules and regulations ordained by our father is very crucial but nowadays deceptions looms across boarders. People’s actions are not what they seem. Mimicking a “Child of God” appears to be what is more evident in people. Good deeds are showcased for the sole purpose of recognition. Has he forgotten that what his right hand does, this left should be unaware? This phrase is interpreted to mean, keep your good deeds from the eyes of the public. Wish others well without expectations. Try not to expect what you have given to return back to you, for when you do, you cage yourself in a bubble of “Give me I give you” mentality which is ungodly and not a practice from a Child of God. A child of God knows that he lives in abundance. Therefore, give freely without expectations. It is one of the ways to case down the deadly spirit of entitlement.

2 Corinthians 6:18
“And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me,” says the Lord Almighty.

1 Peter 2:10
Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Do you know a Child of God has the ability to think wealthy thought, the right to abundance? The universe freely provides for all his needs and so he becomes successful in all areas of life. Also, happiness easily flows to him, the greatest success of all time. It is the father’s good pleasure to give his children his kingdom. Those who honour him, he will take what was meant for harm away and turn it for good. Stay in faith and do not get bitter. Give God the opportunity to be proud of you, to brag about you because you are his masterpiece and always remember that your father the redeemer lives and he has granted you favour.

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Galatians 3:26
For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

What a miracle it is to know that Jesus lives in a child of God. The spirit that raised him from the dead is alive in you; in a child of God. The child is never too far off from his father. Many say, a fruit never falls too far from the tree. I ask you today, are you a child of God? Are your thoughts and actions aligned with that of “The Supreme being?” You need to understand that worshiping or working in a certain church does not qualify you to be a “Child of God.” Neither does acting to be holy or judging others. To become a Child of God you must request that he becomes your father and believe that truly he is your father by acting on the knowledge of who he is. I will advise that you get to know who he is before asking him to be your lord and saviour, your God and father.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Mark 10:13-16
And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

Dear Heavenly Father, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ,

I thank you for continuously building my faith in you and for the everlasting joy and calm you have placed in my heart. I stand today in a power so perfect in my weakness; the gift of christ, which has transformed my image to a resemblance that now depicts “A Child of God.” Thank you for bringing me into this new image, for giving me the greatest treasure that attracts peace, hope, and happiness, and exudes humility, confident, wisdom and patience. I am assured of your presence in my life, optimistic as you watch over me and fully rested as you take on my battles. Thank you for listening to my prayers and accepting every word from my lips and those singing from my heart.
