The Father you HAVE

Isaiah 41:13 —
“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

The days I feel unbearable pain, I tell my father to seat, that I do have a word for him. As usual, he sits as I take my own seat. Then I start asking him questions. The why, when and what, and before I can contain myself, my face is ugly and filled with tears. In between the pour down of emotions, my watery eyes would see a smirk on his beautiful fatherly face.

After my outburst quieten’s down, he shakes his head in disapproval. Then he would say, “If you truly know the father you have, you wont seat me down to cry over the things which I have already taken care of. Worry about how you are going to thank me, as I will be expecting a grand praise.” Then he will take his leave with a disappointed face. His saddened face won’t displease me, rather it awakens the joy, peace and strength in my heart. Now, the said day of intolerable pain becomes a time to rejoice. Halleluyah.

John 16: 33 —
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world,
you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

When it seems as though the things which you ask for from your father are not making a headway or seems not be the case, always remember that you are walking a path which already has an end. For he is the beginning and the end and his will must be done on earth. It is said that obstacles are inevitable, but the one who has said to always make a way when there seems to be no way has spoken. Believe the words which he has said of you. It is now left for you to hold on to the father’s promises as you pass through the hurdles which life has kept on your path. Always remember that the expectations of the righteous shall not be cut short.

James 1:12 —
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

Yes, he says there will be disappointments, a revelation which is meant for readiness. Therefore, we are not expected to be greatly discouraged by the death of situations, but to rejoice as a overcomer. Your father is a God who does not lie from the beginning of time. He is the only one who opens doors no man can shut. A loving father who lifts his children from prisons to palaces and forever faithful to us in our unfaithfulness. Why not look to him alone.

Numbers 23:19
“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil.”

Our father needs us to walk our life’s journey with him. It gladdens his heart when he knows that we trust him enough, seeing that from ages to ages he has never lost a battle. We cannot continue to question or ask him for the same things over and over again, but to thank him for the things yet not seen with the eyes but have been discerned with the heart.

I Corinthians 10:13 —
“…God is faithful. He won’t allow you to be tempted beyond your abilities. Instead, with the temptation, God will also supply a way out so that you will be able to endure it.”

So next time you seat him down, remind him of the things he has done for you. When he saved you from an abusive partner, when he sheltered you, when he clothed you, when he placed food on your table, when he sent men and women to favour you, when he eases your emotional burden, when he redefines your identity, when he healed you from sicknesses and kept you healthy all year-long. If possible, make sure to tell him in tears, that you are aware of when he averted danger on your outward and inward journeys, when he shut the wagging tongues and kicked your mockers to the pit, when he protected you from false witnesses and wicked companions, when he prevented the situation which could have turned you into a beggar and singled you out from an unworthy crowd.

Romans 8:28 —
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.”

Also, thank him for your physical strength, good health, smiles, hopes and dreams. Show appreciation for present condition, even if it doesn’t look good to you. Tell him you know that he is planning something miraculous to upturn your current difficulties. Call him sweet names and praise him for the miracles you are expecting, and do not forget to kiss him goodbye after you have told him how much you love him. He is your father and he wants the best for you regardless.

PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me the zeal to heed your special words, the ability to see your warnings and the readiness to conquer my fears. Instil in me the strength to focus on your word in times of difficulties and help me to always remember that you have never lost a battle. Let your promises be as clear as the waters and as bright as the sun, so that when in doubt, the waters will wash away the confusion and the sun will cast light upon my questions. Teach me to dance and sing in your presence, instead of consuming our time together with boring questions about the truth or validity of your promises. Father it is not my will anymore but your will. So let your will be done in my life. I offer my life and destiny at your feet. Do with me what pleases you.

Amen
