On an Arik flight back to Lagos, I noticed how comfortable I was sitting even though the plane shuddered as it entered some turbulence. I was not scared as I should be since I have flown thousand and thousands of miles beforehand, and have experienced all sorts. This young lady was once a little girl who would shiver in her seat while airborne. Then I thought of why and how I got to this place of total assurance and confidence.

1 John 5:14–15 - 
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.”

I was sure that I will get home to my family regardless of if the plane tilts or spins. My beliefs and values, which are mostly embedded in the word and love of God allows me to take on life challenges with ease. I was unsure I had come to such a place until now. However, it became clearer to me as I sat waiting to arrive in MM2 airport, Lagos.

Mark 11:22–24 - 
“And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Knowing the promises in which we (God and I) are bounded, I knew nothing evil will and can happen to me because I am yet to fulfil my ultimate purpose on earth and yet to receive all the promises kept specially for me and my household. Just in those few seconds of realisation “The Sunday Digest” was born. Now, I have the privilege to write according to the scriptures which is expected to inspire people hoping and holding on to God for a miracle.

Yes! we know that consistency, determination and perseverance are all important factors needed to acquire wealth and distinction, but the word of God does play a significant role in obtaining both the things money can and cannot buy. Hence, extraordinary and welcoming events that are not able to be accounted for or understood by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to God alone.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ,
I thank you for carrying me through the uncertainty of deep waters, flames of trials and pain of hard losses. Thank you for continuously building my faith in you, on which I stand today. Help me to keep my focus first on you than any difficulties and to understand that your power is made perfect in my weaknesses. In celebration and brokenness, direct my heart and mind towards you and fill them with everlasting joy and peace. I am assured of your presence in my life and confident in your never-ending eyes that watches over me.

Amen
